The sunshade panels, also called brise-soleil, create a shield in front of the façade windows, blocking the sun before it penetrates the building. The sunshade panels, introduced in Italy by the Merlo company starting from the Sixties, create a natural air circulation that allows to refresh the facade of the buildings in a natural way.
The sunshade panels screen up to 80 percent of the infrared rays and allow savings of up to 35% on the running costs of the air conditioning.
The solar shading panels can be fixed or adjustable, to manage in a manual or automated way, the level of protection against irradiation, based on the position of the sun. The sunshade panels are made of different materials and shapes, to adapt to the architectural characteristics of the buildings. They are produced in aluminum, perforated aluminum, solid wood or in technical wood, consisting of PVC and wood fibers.
The blades of the sunshade panels (brise-soleil) can have a rectangular, elliptic, rounded, cuneiform shape or in Z shape, with thickness and width dimensioned to suit the surface to be protected. The sunblind panels are installed on frames and connection bars to ensure maximum solidity of the structure, using extruded, anodized or painted aluminum profiles.
Upon request, when design conditions allow, it is possible to equip the louvers with solar panels for the production of electricity.
